ISIS: The threat returns

ISIS: The threat returns

Raqqa, the former capital of the Islamic State in Syria, is now  controlled by Kurdish and  Bashar al Assad’s troops.

The horrors of Daesh are a  distant memory, but the spectre of terrorism continues to be present. In these images, shot last  August, the Kurds warned the world about the possible return of the Islamic State. This threat is now more relevant than ever.

Following the Turkish  offensive “Spring of Peace”,  indeed, many jihadists have managed to escape from  prisons controlled by the SDF  and the nightmare of the terrorist attacks has returned.

The Kurdish alarm in August  went unheard. And today we  are paying the price.
