Kim Jong-un

Kim Jong-un (Pyongyang, 1984) is the Supreme Leader of North Korea since 2011. Third member of the Kim dynasty to lead the Pyongyang regime, Kim Jong-un came into power very young and his objective was, in order to consolidate his internal and international prestige, to provide North Korea with an autonomous atomic deterrent. That is why he has attracted the wrath of the international community and held hostility with Barack Obama’s and Donald Trump’s USA. According to estimates, in 2018 Kim’s North Korea was equipped with between 15 and 60 warheads. During that year, a détente detente process was begun, ending in the meeting between Kim and Trump in Singapore in June.
