Emmanuel Macron

Emmanuel Macron (AMiens, 1977) is President of the Republic of France since 2017. The former Economic Minister in the socialist government of François Hollande, between 2016 and 2017 he formed the liberal political party “En March!”, which led in the subsequent presidential elections to Macron being presented as an outsider, resulting in his position as an alternative option for voters disillusioned by the center-right and center-left parties. Positioned in the lead after the first round of voting, he then defeated Marine Le Pen on the ballout, gaining access to the Elysee. As President, he has promised to reform politics and the economy which has attracted so many critics of the government and has resulted protests in the city squares led by the “Yellow Jackets”.
