Ebola Nightmare
Coming Soon

InsideOver will soon publish the report Ebola, The Outbreak, realized by the photographer Marco Gualazzini, winner of the World Press Photo 2019, and by the award-winning journalist Daniele Bellocchio.

Ebola, The Outbreak is the dramatic story of what is happening in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where an Ebola epidemic (the most lethal in history) is underway, the first in a context of war. The numbers are impressive: over 3100 infections and 2,000 deaths. 30% of those who contract the virus are under 18 years of age and the deaths are of mostly children. An endless slaughter of the innocents.

It has become a hell made of check-points for the whole population, sampling of the infected and the dead. Vaccinations and treatment centers. Funerals and encounters with the survivors and relatives of the victims. This is what our reporters have immortalized: the desperation and collective psychosis that is gripping the population of Beni, in North Kivu, caught between the endemic insecurity and the spread of a virus that reaps innocent victims daily. A fragment of reality, despairing and true, that we have been able to portray thanks to your support and your trust.
