Born in Verona in 1979, Valeria studied photography takin part to many workshops with several photographers including Giovanni Umicini, Christopher Anderson and Ivo Saglietti. In 2014 she realized “White Shadow – under the mango tree”, a photographic story about the hard life of albinos in Central Africa, which ha been exhibited during the International Festival of Photography Photolux in Lucca and at Magazzini Fotografici in Naples. In 2018 she was awarded an honourable mention at the 12th Julia Margaret Cameron Award and the Silver winner at the Tokyo International Awards with the project “Al Batin, The hidden”, a long-term report on women within Islamic mysticism. Her focus is on documentary photography characterized by strong social themes. She currently lives and works in Verona.
