Giovanna was born in Parma on the first day of autumn, in 1988. Here she studied Literature, Journalism and cultural publishing and Arabic. Milan became home after attending the school of journalism that bears the name of Walter Tobagi, one of the greatest Italian journalists of the twentieth century. In 2010 the collaboration with Repubblica began. She writes about foreigners with a focus on the Middle East.

She loves to observe people and details and above all she loves to take pictures of them. Since 2014 she has been collaborating with Letteradonna, the women’s column of Lettera43.

Since 2015 she has been analysing the languages of television programmes for TvTalk, broadcast on Saturday afternoon on Raitre.

In 2017 she worked for three months in the USA at “La voce di New York”, an Italian newspaper based at the United Nations (where she attended the General Assembly). In 2018 she wrote about the Milanese news for Il Giorno and today she collaborates with Giornale.it and InsideOver.
